Nowadays, I see a lot of people who seem to have lost their ability to be bored.

Busy people. Filling every moment with activity. As if a gap in their calendar would cause them to cease to exist.

Why sit idly waiting, doing nothing, when you could check social media or play a game or go somewhere or do something… anything.

Why should you just be? (Let alone be bored!)

Because, the unoccupied mind is the most fertile ground for the imagination. And the imagination and creativity that springs from your mind is the only things people will remember about you when you are long gone from this life.
